Your imagery, as always, was beautiful and thoughtful (rose through concrete) and the idea of Rei being there was wonderful. Especially the ending. Just beautiful.

That might have worked with you, Rei, might have reminded you of the power you have, of the fire you are. MICHIRU NEVER GAVE TWO SHITS FOR NEPTUNE REI BUT IT'S CUTE YOU TRIED. There was a mix of anger and sadness in her voice, Michiru would have noticed, if she could be bothered. --And Rei just screaming "GET UP". You can FEEL how utterly panicked she is, how frustrated. OH BUT BECAUSE REI HINO AND BECAUSE YOU LOVE ME IT'S ONLY A DEMAND TO FIGHT ON. Even being in Michiru's head, EVEN BEING LITERALLY DEAD RIGHT NOW, Rei can't fathom not taking another step, AND I LOVE HER.

What does it feel like? Michiru did not press for the answer, and Rei did not quickly offer it as Michiru raised her hands to the sky, in perfect concert with Haruka. ---Ohhhh maaann, I love that this is what Michiru's thinking as she's getting ready to strike, to make the move that will absolutely result in their deaths one way or the other. In much the way Rei had the spark of truth in giving voice to her personal betrayal, here Michiru spares a moment for HERSELF.

THE IDEA OF WRITING IT FROM MINA’S PERSPECTIVE IS INTERESTING. AND FRUSTRATING FOR HER, I IMAGINE. But yeah, my general idea was that it was only the sight that kept them connected in death--Rei can’t speak to anyone else, and no one else can speak to Rei. Rei and Michiru are the only go betweens in spirit and flesh. (If rei had, maybe, calmed down for one moment, she could have given Mina and Haruka the opportunity to pass a message to each other, but alas)

“You betrayed me!” --I love that you included this. All the rest of it is true, of course, but this makes it personal for Rei. It's not just about being a Senshi, or about protecting the Princess, it's about them being friends. And how, whatever Rei might say if asked, that in many ways hurts MORE.
