BIO:
A member of the LoS specializing in swordfighting. They are also the leader of the LoS.
They are the only Legion member to have their own unique set of minions associated with them, the Paper Cutout Soldiers. All of the others have Folded Soldiers and Paper Macho Soldiers as their minions.
In formal situations (speaking with Olly or talking to people they don't know well), they speak and act like a chivalrous knight. Why a knight, nobody knows. (It's also very weird if you're only meeting them for the first time, hardly anyone goes about their day expecting to talk to a dangerous knight-child of cutting murder.)
In casual situations, they act like a very playful and sassy child might. Hardly anybody wants to play with them (usually for good reason.)
They are always excited to meet new playmates, although if you're not careful they will cut you to pieces as a way of saying hi. (Why yes, I made one of my Oriking shitposts a serious thing.)
Not used to having human emotions after being brought to life (as even though they had a small spirit inside of their stationery form from before they were brought to life, they didn't have human emotions like sadness, love, etc.), often unsure why they feel the way they do. As they feel that having emotions is unbecoming of a knight, they almost always use that cute little smile on their face as a mask to hide their true feelings. (Kind of like the opposite of some of the members of O13 from KH, who are stated not to have an emotional heart but some of the members act as such anyways. (I seem to recall that there was a lore reason surrounding this, but it has been four evers since I last saw anything KH.))
They are afraid of next to nothing, and have an incredibly strong constitution. Cockroaches? Gore? Horror-film monsters? That stuff won't even begin to faze them.
They ARE, however, terrified of the ice and cold, and are weak to ice and cold as well. Come every winter, it is nearly impossible to find a blanket or jacket around Origami Castle that Hasami hasn't stolen and used to wrap themself in warmth, and yet they will STILL complain of the cold. They also start uwu talking when they're cold... :joy:
They are both the gardener for Origami Castle AND the designated hairstylist for everyone living there. There is an ongoing mystery among the residents of Origami Castle of just who cuts Hasami's hair, since no one else has ever seen them get a haircut or has ever cut their hair. (The answer is that they cut their own hair when no one is around.)
They have numerous pairs of scissors all designed for specific tasks, and uses scissors for everything, including stuff like eating and cooking. There is a rumor that they have exactly 833 different pairs of scissors... (Although who knows how true that is...)
They can somehow float in mid-air like Olly and Olivia. (Though, as you can see right there under "Other Notes"... You know who they learned it from. w.)
Inhumanly strong. Like, stronger than even Hans (who is super muscley and buff and all.) And could probably hold the entire LoS on one hand. (This is how they are able to backdrop Mario for the move Sharp Drop.)
They primarily fight with a giant pair of scissors designed for battle. Unlike their other pairs of scissors, Hasami's battle scissors can split into twin swords, and can be used as a hoverboard. (Usually, they use the battle scissors as hoverboard to travel long distances, and their hovering ability is used to survey the battlefield or w/e. You know how Meta Knight always stays on his little perch before battle? I feel like Hasami is the same way, they like to be at high-up places. Though, unlike Meta Knight, Hasami is just looking to ambush their opponent wwww... I still think it's hilarious that they literally just try Sephiroth-drop onto Mario wwww... wwwwwww... They just need to have very long sword, very long hair, dress like a fucking weirdo, and then have the music and then they will be full Sephiroth style I guess. But they also need to hurl a Materia at someone and then just suddenly LEAVE, because otherwise is not complete.)
The heels of their boots are also sharp, and they have been known to throw in kicks to their fighting style.
They can turn their limbs and phalanges into scissor blades, usually their fingers and legs. (They can also split their tongue at will and use that as a pair of blades, though the practical applications of that are limited.) (This is probably why they always wear gloves and thigh-high boots, though in actuality Hasami's fingers and legs are usually normal, humanlike fingers and legs, even if they remove their gloves and boots.)
Appears to follow some kind of code of chivalry in battle, always sheathing their blades to truly test their opponent before unsheathing and going full-on kill mode. (lol)
They enjoy fighting more than any other LoS member, seeing fighting as though innocently playing a game and even outright referring to fighting as "playtime". They longer they fight, the redder and more dilated their eyes become, and the more excited they become. Usually, their knightly composure keeps them from getting too excited, but in certain rare cases they become so excited during battle that they go completely berserk. While berserk, Hasami is a sadistic killing machine and only really cares about cutting their opponent into quarters. The only way to get them to return to normal from being berserk before they kill everyone in the nearby vicinity is to knock them unconscious somehow or put them through an extreme emotional shock (both of which are extremely difficult to do, since they're also stupid-powerful and swinging their swords around nondiscriminately. Thankfully, Hasami seldom goes berserk, so nobody has to return them to normal usually.)
They created the Paper Cutout Soldiers from shadows that they cut with their scissor-swords. Small shadows created Li'l Cutout Soldiers, and large shadows created Big Cutout Soldiers. Hasami's own shadow became Handaconda, a powerful Paper Cutout Soldier who was designated as their second-in-command.
Olly and Olivia brought them to life at the same time as the other members of the LoS.
One day, a week or so before Olly sealed the Craftsman in the basement wall, they somehow managed to sneak out of the house and went to mainland for an adventure. On that adventure, they ended up meeting Dimentio (who was trying to lay low in order to keep up the belief that he was dead) and befriending him. Before Hans (who had ran all the way from Mushroom Island to Toad Town, and then searched all over for them) took them back home, Dimentio gave Hasami a bit of his floating magic.
They joined Olly because they see themself as his knight, and therefore would follow the young king blindly even if it meant letting him commit genocide. I feel like Hasami doesn't regret their decision, but they also don't think Olly's plan is all that great, either.
After being brought to life by Olly and Olivia, given magic from Dimentio, and then given even more power from Olly upon joining his side, Hasami now has way too much power than a stationery spirit is supposed to handle. Their power leaked and overflowed, which resulted in their very being becoming almost entirely corrupted. That's why they are an almost entirely demonic stationery spirit. (If they received any more power, they would probably die from being too powerful. It sounds funny, but basically, think about what happens if you are physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted all at once, and that persists for a long time. It completely crushes your soul.) The fact that they have too much power is distressing to them, but they keep that to themself and don't talk about it.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Mostly ignores when Jean chatters on, does appreciate their art though.
Doesn't care much for Robert's theatrics, but isn't rude to them either. Robert doesn't know that they met Dimentio one time.
They are on terrible terms with Nico, the two of them often get into very heated fights with each other. But when they're NOT fighting, then they're pretty OK friends. (Hasami usually eggs Nico on to do smth stupid, and then when Nico is like, "why did you let me do that?!" then the two of them start fighting again. Stupid idiots, I love them~) Hasami is actually secretly worried about them, like genuinely. But they don't mention it. Actually cried a little bit when Nico was killed, mentioning something to Hans about "we couldn't protect them after all...". It seems that the three of them knew each other before, but...
They love Hans, even though Hans is kind of a dumbass. Hasami just never knows how to express their feelings quite right, so doesn't take as much initiative in the relationship. They will save Hans if Nico gets them in trouble, however. Part of me wants them to have gone berserk during the fight with Mario mostly because he killed Hans and all the others (yes I know this is something I keep saying about Hasami, this is one point that I just cannot and will not stress enough about them XDDDD.) (But they would probably also go berserk from having way too much fun toying with him.)
They're best friends with Stapler, and the two of them often spar together as part of combat training.
They are incredibly loyal Olly, addressing him as "milord" and calling him "Lord Olly". However, after learning of his plan, they couldn't help but feel deep down that the young king's plot was pure madness and needed to be stopped before it came to fruition. Olly sees them as the most respectable member of the LoS besides Stapler, which is why he gave them the position of leader.
They respect Olivia, and similarly to how they refer to Olly, they refer to her as "milady" and "Lady Olivia". As Olly told the entire LoS to bring Olivia back to Origami Castle alive, all of them were attempting to defeat Mario so he wouldn't try to prevent them from bringing her back.
They are loyal to the Craftsman, though not as much as they are to Olly and Olivia. I feel like if Olly and Olivia weren't there, Hasami would eventually just leave the island out of boredom and to go on adventure.
During the events of Oriking, they view Mario as a potential threat from the very beginning, having heard of his past exploits and knowing that the plumber is deceptively powerful. After seeing that Mario had brutally torn through half of the LoS, Hasami declares him a definite threat and begins to planning to ambush him when he came for the green streamer. Even knowing the plumber's power and what he could do alongside Olivia, though, they still underestimate his strength and fall as the sixth main victim of the Origami Incident.
