i hope you're staying safe and sound wherever you are and whatever you're doing these days. sending warm fuzzies to all my friends and colleagues out there! i just want to say how grateful i am to have had the privilege of taking classes at claytek for handbuilding and throwing with @gtnevenaceramics and @studio_a_ceramics these padt couple of months. when things are getting stressful, i found myself going to the studio to play and create based on inspirations from other artists that i admire. i found that i find something meditative and relaxing about losing yourself to wedging, pinching with thumbs to make shapes, and centering the clay on the wheel. i find comfort knowing that my hands can transform clay into pieces that bring smile and joy, not just for me but people that i share them with. although i really dislike trimming, and hate glazing...i hope that changes over time. now for some unintentional PSA, please take care of yourself and your loved ones, and be mindful of your actions! i hope you'll find some humour in my select "covid-19" themed creations... 1.
