as his lips touch the skin on the back of her hand, there's a blooming red across curving up from her neck and across her face. eyes widen behind the dark of her glasses, while her whole body stiffens. what is he doing? why is he doing this? what is this strange situation? she only blinks, and remembers she exists in a human form as he pulls away, before pulling her hand back towards the red skin above her chest.
“ don't do that. ”
it's soft, as if she doesn't really wanna say it. as if it hurts her to reject physical affection, because it does. why is this man she does not know want to be kind and warm to her? she doesn't understand, it's weird. certainly not willingly does she find herself in a situation of physical affection that is not her child. she doesn't know how to react, so she ruins them.
she ruins the moment.
“ it's weird. ” it's made her itch, it's made her skin burn fire, she tilts her head away from him, and everywhere all at once there's a sadness that permeates the air, the world around them. it's melancholy that spread around them before she remembers herself, and it fades away as quickly as it came.
Hands find his hips as he slowly sashays, round and around the cyborg before him. Once Mettaton completes his final circle, they're at a standstill. He knows perfectly well how his presence would overwhelm individuals so - it's totally fine to stare (for so long before Mettaton will be forced to charge).
For a rugged, @hatefueled cowboy, he doesn't look half bad. Half. But in this day and age we're living in? The style and definition? Certainly not Mettaton's type, that's for sure! Unless...
Oh, interest is mildly piqued when he's asked for his hand instead of trying any risque alternative. The removal of his hat, too, well - manners could only get you so far. "Hmm..." Dark lips curve as he accepts the hand but he's taking the confident strides to the stage. "But how are you on the dance floor?" The confidence isn't bad. Especially when it comes to dancing but who's to say this guy can keep up?
Steff!! We’ve been mutuals and known each other for so long that I have no earthly idea how long it’s been, only that every time I see you around on the dash I’m like 🫵 THATS MY FRIEND. I’m sure you’ve gotten this a lot but you single-handedly got me into R & M and made me love our chaotic Peepaw. You’re so dedicated and your characterization of Rick is canon to me. Everything you write just has me nodding like yep, he’d say that.
You’re also a lovely person who has been through a lot with irl work and health issues (chronic illness gang ✊) and I deeply admire you for your strength. Thank you for sticking around with me for so long, it means the world and I love everything we write and chat about.

Somehow you manage to portray both Johnny’s jackassery and his ability to grow and heal as a character so beautifully in a way that makes me feel like I’m continuing to experience his arc even outside the game.
