This scene may look like something out of a horror film, but it isn’t, even if the house is haunted. Dr. Gertrude was one awesome lady—she got her pilot’s license on top of her MD so she could fly the polio vaccine around to hospitals in northern areas of the Midwest that were far from metropolitan areas.
