John 16:33 (NKJV) - These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Dean, as a middle aged man who spent his life sacrificing for others, being a dad to his brother, and after OVER FORTY YEARS of being a soldier because his DEAD DAD told him he couldn't have anything else, deserved to have a life of his own. That's a long time to only feel you're daddy's blunt little instrument. Cas told him he was more, then he died for it. Dean believed him and he was killed for it. Heaven has his demon living right down the road, and it's very clear the message of this finale wasn't one of hope, but of neverending trauma. Do I believe in the theory that this was Chuck's ending all along? Yeah, unfortunately I'm starting to.
YOU WILL NEVER FIND PEACE IF YOU ARE CONSTANTLY WORRYING ABOUT WHAT OTHERS THINK
… you’re addicted to the chaos, because that’s how you’ve been loved. But there’s peace you don’t have to scream for... admiration you don’t have to bleed for... —Eun
For now...
Yes, i´m sad this is the end. But not because it’s you really. I guess I just thought you and me weren’t going to end like the rest. When you stood in front of me that day and smirked, I thought something better was going to happen with you. I was so excited, you were so different from the rest... so I supposed we weren’t going to end like the rest of the “we” did. I guess it wasn’t our time... but I don’t regret all the times my heart skipped a beat when I saw you.. you made me feel happy. I was always the one doing the admiring and you taught me that I could also be admired.
And even though we didn’t get all that we wanted, I enjoyed the little game we played. But.. no more games. Now it’s time to focus, to be unapologetic, to be happy where I am and not drift off every five seconds to a future beside you.
Maybe one day we will happen, but until then, if then happens, you’ll find me improving with God every single day, knowing that His plans are better than what we thought we felt that day you were in front of me, smirking at each other, completely unaware it wasn’t going to get better than that for us.
For now, at least. I’m not going to lie and say that a not so little part of me doesn’t want this to be the real end, but I’m not going to wait until something obvious happens to permit myself to forget you. It has to be done, for now. For now, you and I don’t look very possible... it’s time to close the book and maybe one of us will choose to open it again one day.
Mark 9:50 (NKJV) - Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another.”
John 16:33 (NIV) - “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
