Sydney’s Summer Size Shenanigans - Part Two
Sydney had changed the rules when she grew for a second time, and no one could say why. For as long as anyone could remember, a random woman somewhere in the world grew once a year and stayed that way until they shrank back down when their time was over. But Sydney’s year hadn’t ended with her shrinking back down to normal height and picking up her life exactly where she had left it. Instead, she had grown even larger.
There was a lot of speculation about what this meant; about why it was happening now, if Sydney would continue to grow with each passing year, and why her and not any of the other hundreds of women across history. For Sydney herself, her second growth spurt had been inconvenient to say the least. It meant she had had to cancel her trip around the Mediterranean with her friends as the yacht they’d hired wasn’t nearly big enough to transport her. It also meant that all of the projects she had had to put on hold as a result of her first growth spurt were still in limbo.
There were movies she was eager to appear in. TV shows with great scripts and strong casts that she had been keen to join. There was a universal expectation that a giantess couldn’t be blamed for financial loss accrued as a result of her growth and couldn’t be held responsible for any damage they did cause after growing. They just got to enjoy themselves and do whatever they wanted before returning to normal.
But after Sydney’s second growth spurt, she resolved to shake things up. She wouldn’t go back to just idling along for a year doing nothing. After the initial furore that accompanied her surge to even greater heights had dissipated, she announced quite calmly that she was going to go ahead with every project she had already signed on for. The first was a film being made in Cape Town, South Africa.
It didn’t matter that she couldn’t fit inside any of the indoor sets anymore. It didn’t matter that she could barely see her fellow cast members. Her phone had grown with her, and she could still rehearse her lines and memorise them. The rest of the production had to accommodate her changed reality; it was as simple as that as far as Sydney was concerned.
There were plenty of frantic phone calls between her agent and the studio, and then between the studio and the South African government. But the simple fact was, when a giantess wanted something, she tended to get it. The first movie with a giantess appearing in a major role was certain to spark interest, and the parties involved came to the conclusion that there was enough money on the table to justify any possible damage Sydney might inflict during the production on the city, the crew, or the cast.
A large cargo ship was hired especially to bring Sydney from Italy to Cape Town. Soon, she loomed over Table Mountain, looking down on the city below. She had the acting bug and wasn’t going to let it go or let it grow rustier than it already was after a year of absence from the industry. “Well,” she demanded, her fingers pressing down on the mountain ominously, “what are we waiting for?”
