it's really weird that on here trans men and intersex people and non-binary people seem to be some of the few demographics you can get away with saying "stop being so sensitive, it's just a joke!" to. i thought we all agreed that was a bad thing to do to minority groups?

why do people think it's okay to comment on fics, to reply to very nice and genuine comments, and criticize the fic author and the commenter????

genuinely. why was it necessary to say "your fic misrepresented the character" (a character who canonically does not have the trauma responses you would expect from someone who went through the childhood abuse he did) and "it's weird that he's still crying and having a mental breakdown. post-torture it makes sense but he's still being babied" (the character almost DIED. more than once. was abused by an adult figure he had previously (somewhat) trusted. HE. WAS. TORTURED. that's fucking traumatic!!!)

i worked so incredibly hard on this fic. i spent literal MONTHS of my life writing, and rewriting, and editing, and plotting, and fighting my own brain to get it finished. i am incredibly proud of this fic. a fellow fic author who i respect very much, whose fic inspired a chapter of mine, commented on it not once but twice. this person was very rude in response to this other author's comment.

this hurts! it's just fucking rude to come into an author's comments and whine about everything that you, personally, did not like. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE WAY A CHARACTER IS WRITTEN, IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE WAY A FIC IS WRITTEN, NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO READ IT. CLICK AWAY.
