Starting Storyline

Main Storyline Masterpost

Sapphia barged into August's office, using her prosthetic leg to nearly burst the door from its hinges.

"Hey! I have to marry you!"

"Huh?" August looked up from his notebook, confused as to what was going on.

"Look, my parents want me to marry already. Into some sort of family that can increase their business ventures, and I figure if we can merge Phthia Coffee with Mytilene Bakery, we can have such a cool shop! I could be here instead of with the other bakers every day! Plus the gals who work the day shift are so cute! And you could talk to the night shift boys."

"I suppose, and it would probably get my father to trust me more. But what about when they expect grandchildren?" August's face scrunched up as he barely got out the words.

"We'll say I'm infertile or something."

"That's genius!"

Sapphia's smile was probably the brightest thing in the room, as August started thinking over what it would take to get married.

"I'm gonna go talk to the day shift girls!"

After the kitchen debacle, Sapphia went back to August’s room, sulking and miserable. How was she supposed to flirt with the hot interns, if a hot intern kicked her out of the kitchen! Was she to remain forever alone?!

Suddenly, the door burst open, and August flopped onto his bed dramatically!

“Saaaphia! It’s just terrible, Percival is oblivious!”

“What happened?” She inquired, curious as to what the commander of the heroes could have done to be oblivious to August’s feelings this time.

“I offered to teach him how to read, and he held my hands as if it was nothing! What am I to do Sapphia?”

“You could confess your feelings, say something like ‘Oh, Percival, I am so in looove with you.’”

“Sapphia!”

“What?! And at least you didn’t get kicked out of the kitchen!”

This statement got August to sit up, looking at her as if he was holding in a laugh.

“You got kicked out of the kitchen?”

“Yes! One of the interns said I was too distracting!”

At that August could no longer hold his laughter in, “Serves you right! One of these days this was going to happen!”

“Shut up! We’re both supposed to be miserable right now,” but Sapphia couldn’t help the hint of a smile that donned her face as well.

“As pity treats, we should steal some snacks from the kitchen!”

“Didn’t you just say you were kicked out?”

“I’ll charm the intern into letting me in!” She smirked, winking at her friend.
