After spending the day out trying to find answers for his recent mood swings, and increasing bloodlust, Alexander Claire was finally home. The instant he walked through the door Hercules was there to greet him, as he always did. He shut the door behind him, leaning down to greet his dog, accepting the kisses and rubbing him behind the ears. “I missed you too.” he replied, smiling genuinely for one of the first times since he’d gotten the news of Kai Parker’s demise. It was a slow process, but it was getting easier, and it felt good to laugh about something as simple as this. Maybe it’d all be as easy as this, maybe. He could think that easily for a moment, but then memories washed over him, and he was forced to deal with it all over again, and it seemed even more impossible than ever. Before he could wallow in his misery, he pulled himself back and made himself focus on the moment. This was good, and at that moment, that was all that mattered.
