Cold metal slid against his skin, the gun’s magazine slipped into the back pocket of black jeans. The one bullet that remained in the chamber was poured out into his hand, gun tucked casually into his waistband. Kyu was a lot of things, had done a lot of bad things, but he wasn’t a murderer.
The words of his boss were still echoing in his ears. “Any means necessary,” he’d said, shooing Kyu out the door as if he was some unwanted visitor instead of a paid employee. The implication that it was to be solved with a bullet was there, but since it hadn’t been explicitly stated…
“Hey.” His voice was deep, but soft spoken – an attempt to draw the attention of the man he was seeking. Why his boss wanted this particular person, he didn’t know; he’d only been told there was money involved, and it needed to be returned. “My name is San Kyu. My boss sent me. Can we talk? Trust me, you really want to hear what I have to say.”
