🦩REVIEW🦩 Shallow River by H.D. Carlton Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars One of the strongest and heartbreaking stories I’ve read this month. H.D. Carlton is a new author for me, and I just need to put it out there; this is a romance story but before that, we get another side… this is a frightening story about domestic violence and how far this issue can go and most terrifying, how the cycle can repeat itself if there’s no one who cares or stands before the person who is being abused. Sadly this is the reality of so many women and men out there, and it doesn’t mean they are weak; so many times the partner has broken down so many pieces of them that they feel the only way to put them back together is through someone else, when that is the farthest from the truth. The manipulation strikes on so many levels that we can’t truly see how many layers are left or untouched. But we can always be there for the person, so they don’t feel alone and or judged. The story of River is really hard to read but once you do, you get to understand another face of this social disease. And this story takes another path, aside from the personal hell River is living, there’s an assassin making chaos along the city, Ghost Killer who is closely connected to River herself. I don’t want to spoil the story so you just going to have to submerge in Shallow River and rest assure, we get a rainbow after the storm. *Triggers: Domestic violence. #shallowriver #hdcarlton #domesticviolencestory #youarenotalone #pleaselisten #neverjudge #romancebooks #lovetoread #theflamingobokshelf #talknerdy2me https://www.instagram.com/p/CF95RzeA8J_/?igshid=1ud19gjjkn97j
