currently crying because i saw a oscar leading the championship edit and alex albon angst edit after eachother
i have to write a meta soon inspired by one of her rivals voicelines too. it was smthn about how her and piotr couldn't be more different but i think she just doesn't realise how similar they are deep down. even though he wasn't there, just the thought of him helped her through so much shit while she was in limbo. he's always been her protector, he's always been the strong big brother that has done anything and everything to protect her. it wasn't the thought of him saving her that helped, even though it was always a lingering thought -- that if she just held on, if she was strong like him, then he'd show up eventually like he always does.
but it was the little sibling desire to be like their elder sibling. she'd remember how strong he was and those memories, in turn, would give her strength. she'd remember how many times he talked her through fits of crying when she failed at doing something, or when she doubted her own capabilities, and then she would pick her sword right back up and go back to sparring with cat. no matter how many times she was beaten, no matter how many cuts and scrapes and goading remarks cat gave her.
how many times he patched her wounds up when she scraped her knee or messed with a piece of farming equipment she wasn't meant to be near, and how after every torture session ended with either belasco or s'ym she went through those same motions. even if they weren't needed, as she'd just be healed with magic not long after. but he taught her all of it. and on the same thought; how many times piotr himself got injured, and how she'd always witness him bounce back no matter how bad it was.
Demon time is such a lonely time when Gavin doesn't exist.
