“---Go away Noah.”
“I’m here- I’m here, now” (From Hawke to Fenris?)
He shouldn’t have gone off to meet his sister alone. It was a dumb idea, and Fenris knew he was walking into a trap, but he figured he could handle it, handle whatever Danarius threw it at him. He should have known that he was hoping for too much. Hope -- it had never been a factor in his life before. And that should have been a giveaway that he needed Hawke with him, that he needed backup. But he didn’t want to drag Hawke into this; it wasn’t the Champion’s problem.
What was one modified elf warrior against a pack of mages? Even full of rage he was nothing against magic, and Danarius knew that, had used his fear of magic against him to take him down. And down he went, with his friends oblivious.
Disobedience. That what it was all about, and it would have been longer -- who knows how long, maybe until he was whipped back into mindlessly following orders. Until he acted on every beck and call, the slave he’d been before. It had been years since he’d been under Danarius’ demand, and Fenris would not obey again willingly, and it was likely the abuse would have continued until the Magister realized his pet was past brainwashing. Then -- well, the darkness would have been welcome.
But Hawke. Fenris should have seen it coming, the rescue, because the man was ridiculous. Righteous in his own ways, and the elf knew he’d hear about it, hear about going on his own later, but he’s exhausted when the Champion is helping him to his feet. Bruised, sore from the ‘lessons’, lyrium marking searing in agony from the sustained use they’ve undergone these last few days. But he stands -- and stumbles -- leaning on Hawke with gritted teeth, despising how weak he appears.
He won’t say anything now. Not because he’s tired, or because talking sounds like too much energy, but because sentiment is not his forte. He’ll thank Hawke when they’re both safe, when Fenris is less ready to collapse. He’ll thank him and wonder when he deserved such companionship.

oh he has her extremely CURIOUS now, brows growing to furrow as gaze flickers from his coffee to his own. outside revealed to be rather sunny at the moment, & the idea of their being such a chaos after such an event had her in the smallest bit concerned. ‘ - why so, exactly ? ‘
“ DON’T SPEAK ! i know just what you’re saying, so please stop explaining. don’t tell me ‘cause it hurts. “ / don’t speak by no doubt
