The Heart of the Jungle || Meg and Jane
Wanderlust suited her. Greece was fabulous, and she intended to explore every last corner of it, but she had never realized just how vast the world really was. There was so much to do, so much to see, and she was just glad she was getting the chance to do so.
Servitude didn't suit her. She had served her sentence like a good little minion, but when the opportunity came for her to swindle her way out, she jumped at the chance. Say what you will about Hades, he was at least good at keeping his word. It was more than could be said about most men she had met in her lifetime. Still, she appreciated it. You could never tell with gods.
The jungle had always intrigued her. There were other parts of the world she could visit, other great civilizations to explore, but she was somewhat fed up with civilization. She wanted to see somewhere a little bit more... untamed.
The trek had been long and arduous, but the sights and adventures she'd had on the journey were worth it. Ah, travel... there was so little commitment involved in her new life. It was perfect.
It was warm today. She was used to the mild climate of Greece, but this was a completely different type of heat. She'd felt humid before, but nothing like this... Her hair was the biggest it had ever been. She didn't mind, though. It made her feel alive.
What she wasn't so fond of was being lost. As nice as the jungle was, it was very samey. Distinguishing between the trees wasn't a particularly easy feat, and she was pretty sure she had taken a right when she should have taken a left. Her brow was creased as she searched for the path that had led her into the jungle. "Now, how did I get in here again?" she mused, scratching her head. This was a little too much. She was all for not knowing where she was or where she was going, but more in the "no real purpose" sense than the "no idea where she actually is" sense.
