Hole of me

I was half a man, when she found me,

Just a shell of a man, and she still loved me,

She felt with her heart and ignored her mind,

One look, and I was whole, in her eyes.

Then she was gone and where she used to be,

There in that space, she fit so perfectly,

She tore away the edges, as she pulled from me,

And left me even less, of the shell I used to be.

No more guard, no more defense.

Nothing that I used to protect me, left.

She tore down my walls and left me disarmed.

She thought it was me, but she had all the charm.

Now with every single step I take,

I find that even more and more, of me breaks,

Maybe she was a dream, I as a dreamer, dreamt.

And then I woke, to find myself condemned.

Once a man, but not anymore,

Just earth and dust, made into a mould,

Now I return to the substance of my worth,

Simply a golem returning to the earth.

there we are sat facing one another despite our proximity you still remain another’s

we talk and yet you fail to listen when I asked you hipster or politician i hoped you might share my vision…
