O orgulho estava estampado no rosto de Helena, evidente mesmo para quem não tinha qualquer proximidade com ela. A presidente da Zeta Beta Zeta amava cada detalhe do evento que sua amada fraternidade oferecia, não parava de agradecer às irmãs quando as via passando ali. A não ser, é claro, quando tinha alguma parte da organização para discutir. Era uma festa e certamente já se divertia muito, mas para ela o trabalho não parava quando era anfitriã. Passava um tempo com cada convidado que conseguia, elogiava os trajes, apresentava as àreas da casa, observava atentamente suas expressões quando reagiam aos novos locais que viam. Entre uma corrida e outra, para supervisionar os garçons ou pedir a substituição de um arranjo quebrado, saboreava a lembrança recente dos rostos admirados pelo resultado do trabalho de suas meninas. Não podia se sentir mais em casa, já que unia nessas ocasiões sua paixão pela Zeta e as experiências com eventos cultivadas desde a infância, enquanto observava admirada o trabalho da mãe. Como, por um momento, o fluxo de pessoas que entrava diminuiu, Helena se permitiu deixar a porta principal por um tempo maior que o usual. Foi investigar o que acontecia no restante do interior da casa, que até então ela não tinha visitado com calma. 

O planejamento minucioso compensou. Com tudo pronto e o local cheio, nada decepcionara a Singer até então. Era natural, já que tinham uma belíssima estrutura e a equipe era escolhida a dedo. Thalia, por exemplo, podia se empolgar um pouco demais em certos assuntos, mas tinha nascido para organizar festas. Helena não podia ser mais grata. A loira se revesava entre um e outro grupo de pessoas, entretida com diferentes conversas, quando avistou um convidado em especial. Tinha visto Heath Mills entra, mas não foi ela quem o recebeu. Se aproximou do rapaz, que só pela expressão, certamente estava prestes a fazer (ou já tinha feito) algo que ela reprovaria. Tinham uma amizade um tanto improvável, mas não era surpresa nenhuma para eles que andassem juntos pelo evento. “O baile parece promissor, Heath?
