@yksha ─── ❛ it seems the shop is going well. ❜ a brief glance around, while their tea remains untouched. they came to check up on her, having been rather busy themself. ❛ if you ever need anything ... ❜ eyes averted; it is difficult for him to voice such things and yet in his offer he is sincere. [ ganyu modern verse !! ]
much as their presence is appreciated, ganyu can’t afford to be taken away from her work. the nature of certain plants under her purview is that they’re sensitive, wilting under any lack of attention — especially so, she’s found, when something else calls for it — she would almost call it jealousy, were they sentient. (of course, they were still plants, and so there was no way that could be possible.) as if reading her mind, the hyacinths nearby seem to bristle indignantly.
but while she may not have noticed xiao’s aversion of gaze, they’ve been owners of neighboring shops for long enough that she’s learned to read between his lines.
“i appreciate the offer,” she smiles, picking the flowerpot up and engaging in what was almost a staring contest with the hyacinths within, her expression silently admonishing. they quell, and it isn’t just her imagination. maybe there was something to it, after all. she places it back down, casting a final warning glance at them to behave, we have a guest, before returning to xiao. she notes the undrunk tea with the faintest hint of amusement. “but surely, you didn’t just come here for tea? is there an occasion requiring my service on your mind?”
