the fandom can be pretty torn on kyle as a character and i’ve come to realize it’s because some people see him as someone who genuinely has passion for the causes he gets behind and wants to do good things for people, and others think he’s insincere and solely wants to make himself seem like a good person or win fights with cartman. i’m the former, but honestly, as i’ve thought about it more i can sort of understand why some people think the latter too? i have arguments about why i think what i do but it’s one of those things i don’t think you can definitively prove either way you know
words can’t describe how immeasurably glad i am that its becoming more common for books to be made into tv adaptations and not movies
whenever i really think about it it's insane that creek is canon and has such a big presence in the show now.... like if not for yaoi fangirls going wild with the tweek vs craig episode over 20 years ago they'd probably be insignificant side characters for the most part
i’m not quite as angry about kyman as i used to be.... it still sucks but it seems like the weird brigade of kymen who woobified cartman at every turn and would write you a callout post if you didn’t think kyle was the devil have kinda died out. at least on this website. so i’m feeling more peaceful lol
it's kinda interesting to me that pc principal has evolved into like.... a more sympathetic character over time
oh i saw a post that sorta reminded me of this but like.... putting kyle's fatphobia on the same level as cartman's anti-semitism is so dumb. and this is coming from a fat girl who HATES fatphobia. like obviously calling someone "fatass" is bad, but kyle literally only does that to cartman, and it really just comes off like a cheap insult he can throw at someone who's making him angry and not like he has a genuine deep-seated hatred for all fat people. not to mention, fatphobia was VERY normalized in the 90s and early 2000s when south park came out.... cartman's whole situation is a very different story i think lol
about to become evil and draw sp fan art again
