“No,” Juno lied. “I think it’ll run smoothly.”

Nureyev smiled, capping the lipstick and wrapping his arms around Juno’s waist, buckling the last belt. “Of course it will. Now, are you going to wear that gold eyeliner I bought for you last week-”

“I still highly doubt that you actually bought it-”

"Pull up his profile again and all known associates," she commands, refusing to think about the calling card left behind at the scene of the crime. Ridoc clicks away and after a moment, three faces flash across the screen side-by-side.

"Is this a crime ring or a boy band?" Sawyer asks with a wry grin.

"Right?" Ridoc laughs and zooms on the first photo.

Hi Rosie!!

For the art idiots au, what kind of accents are we thinking about for each character? I keep thinking American with vaguely posh undertones for Violet (since she probably spent more time with her father) and Xaden in my head no matter what is Irish or Scottish for some reason

Oh, I love this ask! It's actually explicitly talked about in an upcoming chapter, but it's not spoilers so I can yap.

You're right that Violet's accent is pretty transatlantic. She went to an international boarding school and has spent her life between Europe and the US, but she's went to college on the East Coast and now she's been New York for years. It's settled into something mostly American but occasionally sort of posh. They tease her about it frequently. She'll sound more British the more she's upset.

Rhiannon and Ridoc are both from Brooklyn, and they sound like it. Sawyer is straight out of Southern California, and you can definitely tell.

Xaden is much more difficult to pin down in my mind. Aretia exists in universe as the Riorson estate vaguely placed in Europe, or more specifically the UK, but he is also a trust fund baby raised on international education who went to college on the West Coast and now operates out of the States. If Violet's accent comes out when she's upset, I think Xaden's comes out only in the rare moments where he is relaxed. Under normal circumstances, he hides it pretty well.
