Stillness - (Almost Nude Modeling)
Nude modeling isn’t about being seen. It’s about being looked at carefully.
Wells stepped onto the platform without hesitation, bare skin catching the soft north light pouring through the tall studio windows. No mirrors. No distractions. Just paper, charcoal, and a room full of people trying very hard to focus on anatomy and not the fact that he made it look effortless.
“Hold,” the instructor said.
Wells did.
Weight balanced. Chest open. Spine tall. Nothing hidden, nothing exaggerated. Every line deliberate. Every angle intentional. He knew exactly how long a pose like this could be held before it started to feel like work—and exactly how to make it last longer than expected.
Charcoal scratched faster. A few students adjusted in their seats.
Stillness, it turns out, can be demanding. Especially when the subject doesn’t shift, doesn’t flinch, and doesn’t seem the least bit uncomfortable under close inspection. Wells breathed slow, muscles warm but controlled, offering structure instead of performance. Power without motion. Tension without movement.
Some students rushed. Others slowed, tracing the way strength settled differently when stripped of momentum. How confidence could exist without flexing. Wells stared past them all, calm, patient, completely unbothered.
When the break was finally called, there was a collective exhale.
Wells stepped down, reaching for the robe at his feet, rolling his shoulders once like he’d just finished an easy set.
“Good work today,” the instructor said. “Strong lines.”
Wells smirked as he tied the belt. “Yeah,” he replied. “I’ve been told my form holds up under close inspection.”
A few pencils snapped back into cases a little quicker than necessary.
Because modeling like that isn’t about showing off — it’s about holding the pose. Staying steady. Letting people take their time with it.
And Wells?
He’s always been very good at standing firm… until someone finally tells him he can relax.
