Hey, can I ask you what you consider crossing the line from thinking a celebrity is hot to objectifying them? This is an honest question, I don't want to be gross and treat anyone like that.

There's a lot of things i would analyze on this but possibly the briefest thing I can think of is don't say anything you wouldn't say to their face.
There's a difference between thinking that a person is a hot piece of ass (Example A:
X) and thinking that they, amongst other things (being a good actor/person, being positive, kind, good, attractive in more ways than physical appearance) are genuinely pretty. Two different things.
Reducing someone to their physical attributes, reducing them purely to their appearance, no less in a vile, disrespectful, I-want-to-lick-his-biceps kind of way is objectification. It has plagued women for centuries and for some reason there's a stupid double standard for men, especially on Tumblr.

(X) The power internet users have in the matter at hand is the fact that Anthony Mackie, or whichever male celebrity is being judged, objectified etc cannot respond, cannot disagree or dispute this. Therefore they can't stand up for themselves, which makes said internet users feel like they could say anything at all. Their words go unexamined and possibly ignored, and they further the sense of entitlement on others to comment and judge celebrities bodies as if they're nothing but content for consumption
Not cool. It doesn't bring back equality for women (it's not a tit for tat situation), it's just disrespectful and fucked up. Appreciate them as people. Not as bodies.
