town and the surrounding areas have been a bust for his search. his current plan was to get out of town as far as possible and search his way back in. the easiest way to accomplish that, especially as people have started to make their way to designated areas from city hall is to get out of sight and use his enhanced speed to blast further out than the rag tag groups could manage. however, on his way against the grain a familiar and rather distressed face comes into view in the throng of confused westray citizens, each varying levels of worried about their missing items and in some cases he's learning, people. seems like a step too far, if you ask roland. taking possessions that people are attached to and leaving vague riddles in various ways is already fucked up enough.
he stops in his tracks and considers reaching out and touching her shoulder, but ultimately decides against it. she seems really distressed and he doesn't want to contribute any further to it. he recognizes her from the casino, though this is the first time he hasn't seen her sitting beside her husband. at least, that's what he assumes from the ring that is usually on her finger. ❝ helen, right? i'm roland. a security guard at the casino... if you don't remember. are you okay? is your -- husband -- one of the missing? ❞ he's cautious around the word husband, a bit more of an unsure tone when he throws out the label.
