Hell Employee of the Month, February: Hell’s Caretaker
So first of all thank you again for constantly answering all my questions haha, you're the most reliable source I have for getting answers. But second, I was just wondering about the echo keyword. If I have something like hell's caretaker and bone shredder was played last turn, can I sac bone shredder to the caretaker While echo is on the stack or would I have to pay the cost first to keep the shredder alive
Yes, you can do this.
At the beginning of your upkeep, Bone Shredder’s echo trigger will trigger and go on the stack. Before it resolves, you’ll have a chance to activate spells or abilities, such as Hell’s Caretaker. This allows you to use Hell’s Caretaker to exchange the Bone Shredder for another creature card in your graveyard without having to worry about paying that pesky echo cost.
