What’s the vibe today? Are we feeling Helia, Arlo (final fantasy), or Piper (stardew valley)?
Hi, i like how you draw the character perfectly!, ♥ how do u draw characters with correct proportions from different perspective angles? I'm struggling with that (T▽T)
Thank you so much 🥰 It's a lot of work! I actually have my degree in 2d animation and so keeping proportions is my bread and butter. It really has to do with perspective and volumes. But to keep it simple, I made a quick little tutorial for you, I hope it helps. You can also look for pdfs of the Animators Survival Kit which breaks it down even further.
hi i have a question have you ever thought about drawing helia as meg and her lil bearded boo thang as hercules from the disney movie
Alas it was not meant to be
Ask time! What would you say inspired your designs?
This is a fun one! Took me a while to come up with an answer. I think a lot of things inspire my designs (very broad answer, I know) but to break it down:
I take inspiration in a lot of things though. For my characters, I grew up on Disney movies, you couldn’t read me away from them. Atlantis and Fantasia 2000 were big ones. I also loved Dreamworks Sinbad and Prince of Egypt.
Comics have influenced me too, Brigada by Enrique Fernandez is a fascinating study, and so is anything by Mike Mignola. Same goes for fairytale books. Look up Sheila Beckett.
After taking a few art history classes I’ve gained an appreciation for a lot of art, but the ancient Minoan frescoes are some of my favorites.
Those things have helped direct my style, they direct my lines. Of course over the years I’ve developed my own unique voice and can find inspiration in outfits or even just colors that I see online. Sometimes I go down a research rabbit hole and learn something new that inspires. It’s an exciting process.
Sorry for the length lol hope this answers your question
I dunno if you've ever considered it but I feel like Helia could absolutely pull off the white ballgown from Labyrinth. Though she could also probably pull off most of David Bowies wardrobe from that movie as well....
Babe I absolutely agree
hello! here’s an ask for helia: what’s your favorite memory?
(Here’s the moment)
Lady helia, how do you manage to be so cute and charming?
