scruffs him ! somehow ! he's doing it ! >:D
A venomous hiss is wrested from Copperhead's jaws when fingers strong as steel dig themselves into the back of his neck, powerful digits curling under the thick scutes consisting of his hood. Try as he might, the serpentine assassin cannot turn his head nearly enough to bite, his assailant's grip too strong to allow Copperhead any range of motion to turn those deadly fangs against him. Under normal circumstances, this wouldn't have been a situation to worry about. As it was, this was very much not a normal situation and this was far from a normal man whose fingerbones would snap once Copperhead found purchase elsewhere, be it with his claws or tail. Unfortunately this was no civilian or superhero he was up against, nor rival he was competing against for the same goal. This was Vandal Savage, a name he'd only heard whispers about over the years but had found to his chagrin that the rumours were all true. A second hiss is brutally pulled from his lungs as Savage retaliates, avoiding a slash from his claws only to dig his fingers in further, beneath the thick scales covering the back of his neck to where the scales are softer, thinner. His hands are certainly big enough to manage it, inhumane strength bringing the beast to heel regardless of how reluctant Copperhead is to give in. Finally, after a few more futile attempts of struggling he does so, but the longing to bite remains. Savage had a serpent in his hands, figuratively and literally and it's only because Copperhead fears that his hands might twist further to break his neck that he behaves for the moment, lungs heaving for the scarce amount of oxygen that the supervillain allows him to breathe.
"You may be immortal but even you can't hold me forever." Copperhead growls. It's not the wisest choice of words he's ever made and he knows this for Savage is as ruthless as he is eternal, but their scuffle had brought out the beast in the serpent, a viper waiting for his foe's cruel talons to unleash him.
