“BIG CITY OF DREAMS”
by Tristan Eaton
BoweryBoogie.com, covering New York City's Lower East Side since 2008, says that the beleaguered Allen Street Hotel, at Allen and Rivington Streets, was one of the worst eyesores in the 9-block area known as Hell Square. In 2012 a much-needed organization was created to bring a diverse group of artists together creating Manhattan's only mural arts district and taking back the streets for new generations of art fans and tourists. The LISA (Little Italy Street Art) Project began, appropriately enough, along historic Mulberry Street but given its success it has quickly expanded into the surrounding neighborhood and when once again crossing the Bowery into the Lower East Side in 2015, street art icon Tristan Eaton was tapped to create this aspirational work. @tristaneaton @thelisaprojectnyc @boweryboogie
