The Finnish FA has decided to temporarily defer all of the Finnish players who are based in Italy back to Finland.

As a result, players like Nora Heroum and Anna Auvinen will not be rejoining their respective club sides (Milan and Inter) for the time being. After the Cyprus Cup is over, they will be going back to Finland and not Italy.

Tuija Hyyrynen (Juventus), who had to withdraw from Finland’s squad due to injury, will also be returning to Finland. Though she was initially sent back to Torino after acquiring the injury, she will now return back to Finland in order to be assessed by the team’s doctors.

The deferments are temporary. However, it is not known when the Finnish players will rejoin their Italian club sides.
