been loving this wisewheeler x bravebyers thing because I can contrast it with henderhop and it is incredibly funny
Mike and Will see themselves as fundamentally different than their fantasy counterparts. Mike thinks Sir Michael is too much, specially regarding Will; and Vicar William, on the other hand, is so far away from what Will could ever hope to become that it worsens his own insecurities. The two duos together clash in a way that exacerbates existing conflict, it doesn't facilitate the relationship of Mike and Will (unless, of course, I put both of them through the torment nexus, which I love to do).
Meanwhile Poet Dustin is unabashedly flirting with El and Dustin is FUMING thinking that the bard is pushing too many boundaries, and Poet Dustin is like "Why are you jealous? I literally have your face - if anything I'm proving that all you need to do is try!!!" And El sees Lady Jane with Poet Dustin and she fully recognizes herself in this fantasy version of her, she can see they truly are the same - and that version of her is happy with that Dustin. And it makes El think that this world's Dustin, her Dustin, might be able to make her just as happy as Poet Dustin makes Lady Jane.
