Today In History We Honor Henrietta Lacks

Henrietta Lacks was an African-American woman who cells created an immortal cell line known as the HeLa cell line. Henrietta’s tumor were given to researcher George Gey, who “discovered that Henrietta’s cells did something they’d never seen before. They could be kept alive and grow. Before this, cells cultured from other cells would only survive for a few days, but some cells from Lacks’s tumor sample behaved differently than others.

The Evil Slick of Deflection

I don't think demfolk could stop lying if their lives depended on it...The irony is, their lives DO depend on it! Ever since the U.S. Government (and their industrialist and banker puppetmasters, such as the Bush's) protected, harbored and installed some of the most diabolical scientific masterminds of the Nazi regime into positions of power and research right here in the good ol' yu ess of ay, dem done figured out that dem wasn't no master race after dagblastitall. Ever since OUR dna (courtesy of sista Henrietta Lack), has been traveling through the laboratories the globe over trying to figure out our divinity so dem could adorn demselves with it. . .Dem don't seem to quite understand that behaving as dem do - it would burn dem to cinders! So, apparently, some young brothas and sistas over in Britain figured out that the reason that dem started all this incarceration of black males is so dem could take swaths of their dna for cataloging and studying. So even though this is something that they are doing - even for just routine stop and releases -taking dna samples of blacks, dem still be denying it. It's not that at all -oh no! We are to believe that black males are violent. Black males have risen to great civilizations, bigger than this Roman-Greco mess the world has been coping with for too damn long; they've traveled the world and spread our culture and shared our wisdom through every corner of it -without conquest and violence. Black men and wombn have done this multiple times before demfolk even found their way out of caves and learned to use spoons. And yet. In spite of tens of thousands of years of evidence to the contrary, we are supposed to believe that this allergic reaction that brothers have developed over the past 60 years to their proximity to the toxic vitriole of white men's culture, influence and degradation that is visited upon them from the time they are 5-6 years old, that there is something in our dna that could explain why black men are so violent. Really? Now I know that dem lizard-peans have been trying to inculcate the falsehood that black males are inherently violent ever since Nixon was intent on getting a bill passed that would allow them to systematically lobotomize baby brothas between the ages of 5-6. And I know that a lot of folks went for the okey-doke on that score - including wefolk ourselves. But come on now. A lot of black of black folk are getting paid a whole LOT of money to keep heads heedless so wefolk don't be looking at what dem been doing but I'd suggest getting done with that.
