If you haven't read The Locked Tomb series this is gonna be pretty inexplicable. Uhh so spoilers ahead, but there's a character from a group that uses their names to memorialize snatches of Earth culture left over after an apocalypse, even if they don't necessarily know the significance of any one bit. The motto ribbon is her entire name, but she goes by Wake for short.

And once again - now for the fifth time - we kick off a new edition of #Heraldecember! This year's prompts are inspired by various famous novels from around the globe.
As a little extra from us, we are providing you with fillable sheets this year. One large poster sized variant for all 31 days, and four separate sheets for easy printing out at home. You can find them attached below the cut. These sheets are of course entirely optional to use.

@heraldecember Prompt: Leopard
This prompt made me think of Bagheera the panther, so this shield refers to the moment at the very end of The Second Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. Bagheera buys Mowgli's freedom back by slaying a bull, and he says this line. It's one of the very few scenes in books that have actually made me cry.

More ludicrous quartering! More!!
This one really laid bare why you shouldn't have colors on colors, I filled out the braid on the torse in dim lighting and could barely tell the difference between the blue and green!

This design was actually suggested by my partner @fortheninth for "Apart" but I'd already drawn a lion I really liked, so I saved it for this!
And with that, I'm finished with another Heraldecember! I'm getting better at doing these on-schedule! I had a lot of fun :)
