Did he dislike women in the past and was he misogynistic? Or was it just that he was bitter about women in the past at a particular time?
He meant he had a low opinion of women. It's very possible he was feeling bitter when he said it. But even if he was, it's still misogynistic. The members of Led Zeppelin were all misogynists and have a history of mistreatment and abuse of women and girls.
