Madison had ended up in Rose’s shop, curiosity having gotten the best of him on a free day. However, instead of browsing her wares, he was simply(pestering) striking a conversation with the female.  Somehow his lively hood came up, and that was of course something he always boasted about

“I’m a good pretender, won’t you come see my show? I’ve got lots of problems, but good thing nobody knows.”
