one of the few silver linings during the invasion was getting to meet buzz. dude was insanely cool, working holograms and tech like they were a dang wizard. tex was impressed, even enough to be part of kickstarters, if the dang team wasn't a mess as it were.

one of the first orders of business was checkin' on folks, made a whole lot easier when good ol' buzz stumbles upon him.

"shit, just who i was lookin' for." he greets with a smile, extending a hand that would lead into a hug. "glad ta' see you made it in one piece."

leland was in trouble, surrounded by a couple of nasty looking beasts. it wasn't the best idea to come out here alone, but he couldn't just let himself sit at home while his family was out there in need of help.

one of them advances, slashing at his arm and leaving a gash. thankfully, his light armor took the brunt of it, the cut not deep enough to pierce too far in.

another swing of his hammer sends the thing flying, but it does little to deter their approach.

perhaps it was cowardly, unbecoming of someone who called themselves a miracle, but sylas was genuinely terrified. he already didn't have the best track record with run of the mill street criminals, how could he fare against otherworldly creatures like this?

but that didn't mean he had to be helpless.

so instead, he focuses on what he can do remotely... drone combat, assuming control of whatever devices were still operable, and helping guide miracles where he could. but things had gotten quiet lately, and he was starting to get worried.

alert, movement at entrance a.

the alert nearly has him jumping out of his skin, shaking his head as he checks the camera to see none other than briar.

" shit. " he immediately lets them in, standing and making his way over with a look of relief. " you came. " surging forward, he pulls them in for a hug, exhaling sharply.

" oh, uh, sorry about that. " cue the awkward laugh. " i was worried. "
