So, I have been trying my best to illustrate a really long ask and I am trying to do a collab with a friend and school starts next week, I am a M E S S lmao but I am just complaining, don't pay attention to me xD, so please have this random info about Panama hats: (_ _)/~☆ *Copied and pasted from Instagram* [Panamá hat part 1/???] (Instead of explaining all the interesting facts of these hats at once I will post those randomly (probably when I can't draw as I planned like today(??)): Heeeeey~ I couldn't draw anything of the things I have planned so I remembered these hats and drew this so I could practice Hetalia style too jaja...and wanted to post something since I am getting busy with preparing stuff for school uffff help. [Panama hat] ☆Or Jipijapa/ toquilla straw hat, it is originary from Ecuador.Traditionally, hats were made from plaited leaves of (locally known btw) toquilla palm or jipijapa palm. ☆The art of weaving the traditional toquilla hat was added to the UNESCO intangible Cultural Heritage List on December 6th, 2012. ☆Despite the name, Panama hat has NEVER been made in Panama. ☆Since the name "Panama hat" implies these hats are from Panama, Ecuador rarely receives credit for the invention or production of this famous hat. ♧Why these hats are called "Panama hats" then? That's for another post if you want to know jaja c": ♧ Extra fact: ☆When talking about the places in Ecuador where the hats are made you'll listen places like Cuenca or Montecristi, but recently I read about a place called "Pile" ubicated in the Manabí province, and it is said that the BEST and most EXPENSIVE Panama hats are from there (which might be hard to believe if you consider the fact that Pile is a poor place) Erm...I did a mistake at the second panel, at the moment I haven't found where are these hats from (I mean in which part of Ecuador they where created exactly), I misunderstood the text I read about Pile so please forgive me!!!😥 m(_ _)m
