hey hexeddocs! i love your templates. i was wondering if you had any tips or tricks on how best to duplicate pages if you need to add the same page to add more information? especially on the lore doc?
Hi there, and thank you so much! Of course I can give some tricks with duplicating pages.
A lot of my templates are table-based, which means that the majority of the page is covered by a single table that has cells merged to create the design that I want. When I'm creating docs and would like to duplicate a page, I usually start from the top of the page, highlight all the way down to the bottom of the page, and then paste on a new page. I do have a Macbook, though, so this works best for me. I'm not quite sure if this works as well with desktop.
For the lore doc, there is a picture in the background, so you have to be careful to not select that when you're trying to highlight down. It may occur that some drawings and pictures don't copy over, so what I would do it click "image options" and click "position." There, you can see the "x" and the "y" position of the image. Make sure to write that down somewhere or refer back to the original drawing. When you copy and paste the drawing/image into the next page, input the "x" and "y" measurements and it should look like the original. Always be sure to "fix the image to the page!"
You may need to remove the background picture temporarily while you're trying to highlight.
As for adding additional information, an easy way is to add a small redirect link at the end of paragraph that will lead the reader to a page that will continue the writing. You can also put an smal star * at the end of the paragraph, and then at the end of the doc, write the additional information with a * beside it so people know where to look.
However, if you want something more aesthetically pleasing, I'd be more than happy to help rearrange a few things to best accommodate you, free of charge! I have no issues with duplicating pages and adding certain things to suit your needs.
I hope this helped somewhat! But as always, if you have any more questions, don't ever feel afraid to ask! <3
