my first hexagon cardigan 😊
So I've gone back to working on my hexicardi recently and I've just finished the first sleeve. I wanted a cool balloon sleeve look so I added 7 inches of cuff. It looks kinda cool.
Still need to do the next sleeve then go around the edges with a scallops scallop shell stitch.
Working on the cardigan today. Finally nailed down the math for buttons and got the button holes made. Only 1 more row after this and the main border is done which will leave cuffs and then that's that.
Hexicardi finished!
I added the scallop shell edges which made a fab ruffle effect. I will, at some point, invest in a chunky, wooden pin thing (no buttons, no toggles) to go with it. But for now I am very happy with my make, so please excuse the unprompted pic of my face on your screens!
And it's all done! The only step left is blocking and that's an adventure for a different day. But it's my first hexagon cardigan and I'm so damn proud of it.
First cuff down! I mathed the maths and here we are! Now, we duplicate it on the other side.
So a number of years ago I bought 5x 200g balls of worsted weight yarn with no clue what to do with them... I was thinking maybe a stripy jumper.
I have since started a hexi cardi but now am worried that I won't have enough for a full cardi!
I'm going to use 2 balls for each hexagon and see how it goes. The 5th will be for some joining and maybe a matching slouch hat.
For any added length to body and sleeves (as well as edge and rib cuff) I'm thinking of finding a matching red to the one I've just started with on the outside.
I'm off on holiday in April yo learn to surf so I REALLY want this done by then, just cos the weather will always be temperamental and this would look cool.
