#13: Hexslayer, by Jordan L Hawk

My review: I thought because I hated a character in all the other books, I would hate the book. On the contrary, I loved it.  Finally figured out why Nick was such an ass.  Nick and Jamie just worked, contrary to what everyone else (including me) expected.

The smells wafting from the stove sent Nick’s stomach to grumbling. Jamie grinned and patted his own belly. “I’m so hungry, I could eat a…” he caught himself, but not before Mal let out a bark of laughter. “Aye, I bet you could,” he said, winking at Nick. “Nothing like a bit of the old—” “Shut it,” Nick said, cheeks growing warm. Which was stupid; this lot had no right to judge him, given what most of them got up to.

I have no idea who this model is, but they’re on the covers of three of my favorite LGBTQIA historical romance novels. In Hexslayer, as Jamie MacDougal, an upstanding police officer who lost his leg in Cuba as part of the Rough Riders. In Memories, as Will Marsden, a demisexual steward who was sent away to be cured of his attraction to other men. In An Unsuitable Heir, as Repentance (Pen) Starling, a gender fluid beauty that works as an acrobat with their twin sister. Anyway, this person is gorgeous, so I just thought I’d share.
