Salvador is the reason i stopped being weird about neopronouns bc before reading hfwu i didn’t understand why someone would use neopronouns and thought they were kind of silly but i thought Salvador was really cool so xe made me curious about why people would use neopronouns so after reading accounts of people who use neos i kind of understood better and stopped thinking they were weird so thank you Salvador that was very cool of you
.
How I advertised HFWU to a friend was: “gay kids take down a cult” and they were hooked
.
I haven't heard anything since it was announced, but I'm really looking forward to the hfwu animated movie! I love animation so much and I hope it'll be good!!

I like AJW's books and all, but I honestly did not care for any of the villains. They were all menacing and effectively threatening, yeah, but very few of them really had any motivation or direction to their character beyond bullying the protagonists. We never get to see any side to most of their characters beyond the cruel, transphobic oppressor. I'm not asking for them to be sympathetic or anything, but they're just so flat. I feel like Mary's the only one to be really fleshed out, but I don't know if you could really consider her a villain in the first place
I've never read ywmtbh though

the ajw community on yere is mischaracterization hell

HFWU helped me figure out I was

my brain took the first description of aisha and immediately decided she looked like tara from heartstopper. and her description was barely expanded on so that’s still how i envision her when i read the book (although i try to be more creative when i draw her)
aisha deserves the amount of description her friends got 💔
