keep each other company

    he walks beside her on the street, quietly and unsure of what to tall her. his hand brushes hers time or another, as he is still unsure of grabbing hers like he did once. they weren’t a couple, not even close to be one—but they pretended once, and the feelings that created were more real than it was supposed to.

    jaebum takes a look at her as they walk together. after that hug, that took him several minutes to pull away, he didn’t find much words to tell her besides the question “can i walk you home?”. there were so many questions in his head and none of them were good enough to be asked on the first moment they’ve found each other.

    holding his breath a little, he takes her hand into his, her fingers between his. he needs to talk. he needs to know more about her. with that in mind, his first good question pops up in his head. “what have you been doing since then? is everything better now?”

the feeling

    he could hear his own mind asking himself what he was doing there—and, honestly, he didn’t have an answer for that. it isn’t like him to simply go to a club because he feels like it, it usually has to have a better reason: a friend asked, celebrating something, or it was his own best friend’s club, where he would go to drink, laugh and talk. yet, this time wasn’t any of those reasons, which only felt weird. jaebum simply decided he should try to hang out more now he was on a well-deserved break and didn’t feel like asking anyone to go out with him. it’s one of those “i want to be alone in a crowded place” kind of thing.

    then, he enters the club, seeing the dark place being lighted up with different colors and going accordingly to the beats of the song playing, and walks down the bar, his arm resting on the counter. jaebum has a small smile on the corner of his lips as he watches people having fun and doesn’t look at the bartender when he orders a drink—as he doesn’t know what to ask for, he just requests the best drink the person could get him.

    and he waits. tapping his fingers on the counter, he moves his head to the beats and turns completely towards the bar once he hears the bartender handing him his drink. jaebum freezes a little at the sight of her, not sure if he was recognizing correctly. but it only could be her, right? he stares at her quietly, trying to catch his eye on her name tag and failing, as her hair was covering it. “thanks… so, what’s this?” he mutters, after taking a sip and trying to remain casual as he couldn’t be sure if the girl noticed who he was as well.
