BLINKS AT YOU
ho
tricky & improbability drive user!reader
EAT
Sandy dunes, blood red skies… blood red blood!
Your hand gripped a scuffed up sword as you glanced over the masses of piles you've congregated. Surprisingly? You haven't even broken a sweat.
That should… be expected of someone who can bend reality!
That's right, bestie! You have an improbability drive jammed into your head! Which is cool, but also, reeeeallly fucked you up. Doesn't matter who you were, now all you felt was the need to fuck shit up and dance while doing it! It's a mutual agreement. Symbiotic relationship or whatever.
And so there you stood, proudly grinning and covered in the blood of your victims. Hank who?
...best not to jinx that.
You attempted to wipe blood from your face, but the blood on your arms only smeared it worse.
Oh well, intimidation factor works, eh?
Finally having enough of the sight of your work, you turn away, raising the sword to your eyeline with shaky difficulty, narrowing your eyes.
The drive whirred in your brain as you focused on the weapon, the power of the strange, anomalous machine bending the very laws of reality to reform the bent and battered blade to a pristine form.
It looked brand new now!
Humming in approval, you swiped at the air with the sword a few times before holding it idly by your side as you glanced at the sky, now. Eyelids drifting shut, you could practically feel the blood coating you simply evaporate as if the laws of chemistry didn't apply to you.
Actually, NO laws applied to you. And damn you were going to take advantage. All you were going to do was leave behind the mass pile of dead grunts there… as a trophy! ….Hank who?
;)
...?
...hm?
The air seemed to shift.
A low, guttural growl formed in your throat at the shift, feeling metaphorical hackles on your back rising. A power that doesn't seem to be yours pulsed through the air. Followed by static flooding your vision.
Red static.
You spun a 360, spinning your sword over your knuckles as you whipped your head around to locate where the supposed enemy… no, opponent was.
Obviously, with this power, you two would be of the same level of strength, making it a competition of who can use their power better.
You stepped forward from where you were standing.
"YOU"
The word burned into your head, red and unforgiving. Even when you closed your eyes, you SAW the word in your vision.
The growl in your throat turned into a jaw snap of intimidation as you heard the sandy ground below your feet cracking and shifting.
Before the opponent could slice into you with-
a stop sign?!-
you quickly zipped out of the way with your speed.
The being that seemed to hunt you down from the very core of Nevada stuck its head out from the cracked ground, eyes glowing bright red and boring into yours from within the holes that were on the metal mask, adorning its face.
The red twin pillars of curly hair bounced as the thing lifted a green clawed hand out of the crack in the ground to point at you.
"YOU."
Not a second later, it flew out of the crack, heading directly towards you with nearly incomprehensible speed.
That is, incomprehensible to anyone but you. You spun out of the way with just as much speed, snorting loudly. "Keep up!"
It almost looked surprised as it flew past your dodge, snapping its head to your new position, with you ready for action and in a fighting stance, sword at the ready and your body trembling involuntarily. Your eyes were trained on the other being as it gripped its stop sign close, eyes looking you up and down. Watching it gave you next to no answers on what was happening, but all you knew is that… this thing seemed to have the same powers as you and your drive; even shaking like you do (though, this one's shaking was MUCH worse)!
Honestly, you can just about feel the other drive on the thing. A few more seconds passed, and the being fully faced you now. The intense shaking that wracked its body increased marginally as something in it looked to perk up as it watched you.
"!!!! OMFG!!!! YOU'RE LIKE ME!!!!"
Your own sword was still raised, even as the defensive grip of the 'opponent' seemed to loosen.
"...Oh yeah? You sure?"
"COURSE!!! WOULDN'T LIE, FINGIES CROSSED :oD"
"Well, hmm… For starters, who are you?"
You watched as the other stabbed the sign into the ground, laughing.
"'M TRICKY!!!! TRICKY THE CLOWN!!!"
Tricky, eh?
"Well, Tricky…" You responded with your own name, giving a courteous bow.
"I don't doubt for a second that you have power similar to mine, considering your," you took a second to gesture to the obvious features that screamed 'I am a zombie! and yet somehow still intelligent! (to a degree)', "...condition."
"BLAH BLAH BLAH! WE BEEN KNEW!!!"
...
"OKAY LET'S FIGHT!"
"Wha-"
Just as before, the clown charged at you- sign in hand- and you stepped out of the way. But this time, it expected that, blocking the way by thrusting the flat side of the sign in your way and halting your attempt to dodge.
With the upper hand, he pushed you back to throw you off balance.
"Hmph-!"
You let out a breath, twisting your body unnaturally to slam your sword into the ground. Successfully reorienting your balance and fixing your posture, you set your eyes back on Tricky, who seemed to be attempting a swing now. You hissed, taking the sword and raising it to parry the swing.
As Tricky recovered quickly, you countered by splitting your sword, creating a second one out of thin air and gripping it in your other hand.
Now dual-wielding blades, you grinned with a snarl on your voice,
"Hope you're not holding back, then, clown!"
"AWW, IF I DID, 'TWOULDN'T BE ANY FUNNN!!!"
"Thaaat's the spirit, hah!"
The land finally responded to the amount of improbability you two were exhuding, cracking much more and breaking off into pieces that started floating. You were pretty sure you saw a comically large Mona Lisa painting falling on a building nearby. Damn
Avoid the distractions! You're on a battlefield…
Your eyes narrowed as black fog settled in your vision. Letters in blue typed out, slowly… letters that reiterated your thoughts. Akin to the red, shaking text that Tricky inflicted upon you just earlier...
"I'd like to see you try to take me down, Tricky."
