does anyone remember Hi Walter! quick yap sesh ab it lol. for people that doesn't know, Hi walter is basically a video of this guy named patrick making a video to his friend walter, telling him about how he met a girl in the mall. he starts off the video saying that he's got a new girlfriend and how they met. he explains that she tried on a and bougth a lot of clothes, then talks about how she was looking at this beautiful necklace and how she wanted him to buy it for her -how she gave him that look- patrick then tells tells that he wants to show his girlfriend to walter even though she "hates cameras". then the camera cuts from a kitchen looking place to a darker room. showing a closed door. patrick then opens this door to reveal a dark bathroom with a tied up woman, crouched on the ground and screaming. patrick then goes in the room closing the door behind him. then the video cuts off. this video scared the living shit out of me when ı first saw it when I was 7, I thougth that the video was real. seeing the woman tied on the ground screaming looking scared out of her mind, the ambience and patricks acting especially patricks acting. the video is 2/3 of patrick talking about how he met this girl and what she did in the mall, but the way he acts, his mimmics, his tone and just everything. the way he talks about this girl -and how she looked at him- is so obscene. he looks so excided to tell walter about his new girlfriend, but he also talks in a way that feel like he knows he's delusional fo thinking that she likes him. at the part where he talks about how she hates cameras but that he's gonna show her anyway; his speech gets shaky and he acts mad. how he goes in the room ignoring the womens protests. its fucking scary. also ı feel like what makes this extra scary is the amount of context that we have. (which close to none lol) we dont know shit about it at all. and I feel like the less the context the scarier. A relieving discovery, leaving it a bizarre coincidence that the girl involved seemed so similar to the one missing... unless Kayla in fact ran away to join a Youtube channel. You know, like running away to join the circus, for a more modern age.

Obviously that isn’t verified and possibly never will be, but he does give a fairly decent explanation of the video- it was meant to start a series where a serial killer, our good ol’ Patrick, taunted one detective Walter who was trying to catch him. In other words, the “failed ARG” theory was the most correct, but with the twist that Walter was the good guy, rather than a fellow killer.

Rewatching the “Hi Walter” video, I’ve realised Patrick refers to Walter as “Walton” halfway through the video. I’ve never seen anyone make note of this.
