Seems like a good post to return to Instagram with. Did some recording recently for Hidden Oaks Podcast with my fellow creators. Really good and insightful discussion about the story, having this monster stuck in my head for a decade, plot decisions, creative processes, and much, much more. I realized I had promoted Hidden Oaks a bunch on my blog and not on here. Hidden Oaks is a fictional podcast. It’s a horror/suspense serialized story that publishes every Wednesday. It’s got a simple premise. A monster wakes up in a haunted forest in 1990’s New Brighton, Minnesota. This causes a maelstrom of supernatural events to hit the surrounding neighborhood. I’m writing and producing this with two amazing colleagues and creators. They’re making this one of the best and most ambitious projects I’ve ever done. Check it out: hiddenoakspodcast.com. Oh gosh I feel like there are so many things to talk about ahahas I guess first thing is it was so awesome to see so many of my friends again ^-^ Back in college, I was a part of a Christian ministry called Miles Militis and a ton of us were reunited at the wedding LOL . Also, Josh (the best man and also my housemate) did a dance from this anime ending credit ahahahas I wish I had a better view of it so you could see but it was fantastic lololol . To get our food, there was a game where you have to guess the name of a popular song 🤔 I was a little worried at first, but we got “Don’t Stop Believing” so we were able to guess pretty easily ahahas unfortunately for a different table, they got a Michael Jackson song but were all too young to recognize any of his music 😂😂😂 That just makes me feel old LOLLL . The day/night was filled with a lot of laughs and smiling ^-^ It’s days like these that I really cherish and I was super happy to celebrate two of my friends getting married with everyone :) . Omg @dcheung_ and @shejustsays ‘s wedding was so cute! I wish you were there to hear Pastor James share their story ahahas it was fantastic and so funny! . Here’s a short version: Derek and Shejia didn’t have very much in common, but Shejia was super into kdramas so Derek started watching them to have something to talk about (cute) He also would take screenshots of diff scenes to show her where he was in the kdrama so they could talk about whats happening & update her etc . The thing is, Derek is super into anime but Shejia was hella against it 👎 UNTIL SHE GAVE IT A TRY AND NOW SHE’S LIKE HELLA WEEB 🙌 AND WATCHES A BUNCH OF ANIME NOW LOLOLOLOLOL (I approve 👍👍👍) . PJ told it way better than I did but I think this is such a great depiction of their love for each other - they’re willing to try new things, even things they’re not interested in, to get to know each other on a deeper level and I think that’s really sweet ^-^ . Side note: LOL @meiwens dropping the watermelon bit xD her “OOOH NOOO” is the best thing ever ahahahas .
