🦜 🦤 uhhhhhhhh I forget which bird was the pretty one was it 🦚?? You get me lmao.
LP the messages you sent after being like "wait not the PRETTY one the FUNNY one" made me cackle.
thank you for being my favorite comic.
anyway, putting this below the button because at least one of these has a wee little spoiler in it
🦜 a pretty quote
okay there's context to the second one that will make sense when it's published, but for the time being...going for these two b/c i like the moments where Lily sits in the knowledge + comfort of having a community.
This was better than friends, she realized—it was family.
It was Remus having spare clothes for her if she wanted to spend the night; James taking a hesitant stance towards approaching her so as not to make her uncomfortable; Sirius knowing how to keep her panic at bay when she was sobbing uncontrollably; Marlene dropping everything and rushing over with Dorcas in tow with hugs and kisses and ice cream and a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on. It was all of them, being here, being together, being her friends—and even as the thought materialized, she felt her eyes start to tear up.
From the upcoming chapter
She wasn’t among the half, but there was something reassuring about the underlying community of the moment—that it wasn’t just Marlene staring at her in concern under the fluorescent light, but Dorcas too, and Remus, and Sirius, and James.
🐧 a funny quote
for me this is an oldie but a goodie, but for the readers this one is relatively new ([spooks] ch 28) and is, imo, one of the silliest lines i've ever added to a fic. (high!Remus my beloved)
“You know how they used to have those t-shirts that said ‘My best friend went to New York City and all I got was this lousy t-shirt?’ I should make one for you like that. ‘My boyfriend was shot and all I got was a lousy kiss after’ or something.”
“You’re high on pain medication, stop trying to be funny,” Sirius muttered.
🦤 a quote you had to delete
What if I gave you the 7-11 taquito quote that I cut from amicus, LP? what then??? (i won't, but what if i did)
This one is actually a lot harder than I'd expected b/c I don't usually have lines that I've deleted written down anymore (unless I hand wrote them), so here's a line from [spooks] that I edited after my initial jot-down?
OG: "He still didn't trust him, though"
New: "Logic didn’t make Remus want to trust Regulus farther than he could throw him, though."
