if she had known she would have not been so hasty with goodbyes. greer would have hugged harder and longer. she would have looked into oriana’s eyes for longer. she would have kissed father on both cheeks instead of just the one. it is stupid to fret over now ; they cannot raise the dead, for all of elethea’s newfound influence and power. yet greer cannot sleep without picturing highever before she rode away with her hunting party. “i just - i hope she wasn’t...worrying over where i was.”

The water is warmed to steaming and oils had been added to scent the air and soften the skin. For all his ruggedness , Berchan has become a bigger fan of relaxing baths. They soothed his muscles after training and eased sleep. A little harder to find these days.

lavender :   how easy is it to gain your muse’s trust ?  once their trust is broken ,   how might one go about mending it ?  ( also requested by @drfrnkenstn <3)

So first of all there’s actually a big discrepancy between young Mathilde & Mathilde after a few centuries. At first she was very trusting & naive, but once she got to know the people more, this changed rather quickly. It didn’t take long for her to become more guarded and careful when it comes to her affection and trust. While she’s not ashamed or afraid of showing who she is and what she can do, Mathilde still avoids exposing it around strangers if not necessary, especially after she’s witnessed a mortal woman who’d taken her in and taught her a lot about healing being drowned for “performing witchcraft”. That incident left a deep mark behind & now Mathilde refrains from exposing too much too soon. When it comes to losing her trust, she doesn’t forgive easily. Mathilde can definitely hold a grudge & gaining back her favour will take time & more importantly genuine effort. If she sees you’re really trying & that you regret the betrayal, chances are high that she’ll eventually forgive you.

Honestly Mathilde doesn’t ask for much. A little cottage, surrounded by nature, a quiet life away from the hustle, with the person she loves most and who loves her back. She’d be fine with having one of these things actually.
