For my next trick I will try to voice my Very Complicated Feelings ™️ about the Good Omens finale

So to start I did really like it. I actually think they handled it very well, especially if you remember they had to cram a whole season into 90 minutes (fuck you Neil gaiman). Maybe my expectations were low to begin with but I was pleasantly surprised.

I love the first 2/3s of the season. Initially I was scared that the story would spend a lot of time resolving the miscommunications between azi and Crowley and I’m really glad that they didn’t. They got it out of the way ofc but after that they just let them work together and we got to enjoy their lovely dynamic. I’m also really glad that they let azi explain himself clearly, as I’ve seen a lot of people paint him as the villain in these past years while my guy(gender neutral) was just trying to save earth.

I also enjoyed the Jesus storyline way more than I expected (Ngl I was skeptical at first) and I loved seeing all the little side characters from last season. BUT WHERE WERE MAGGIE AND NINA!??!? I miss them pls bring them back to me. I need to know what happened to them.

Then there is the ending. I really don’t know how to feel… on one hand I do think it was very in character for them to choose to give earth a chance above all else, but on the other hand

WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY NEVER GOT THEIR ETERNITY TOGETHER WHAT THE HELL. THEY DESERVED IT AND FANS DID TOO. I FEEL KIND OF SICK JUST THINKING ABOUT THE FACT THAT THEY NEVER GOT TO JUST BE HAPPY TOGETHER IM GONNA SOB AGAIN. And it’s not just the fact that I wanted a happy ending. It’s these two very unapologetically queer characters that meant SO much to 14 year old me, and to so many other queer people, not getting a happy ending. It kind of feels like a betrayal, like we as queer fans get told AGAIN that queers never actually get their happy ending. And with good omens the betrayal hits harder because I initially had so much faith that Aziracrow, out of all ships, WOULD actually make it. But yeah that faith was misplaced apparently ( which does kind of fit into the narrative of the show so yeah)

Also this show that was a HUGE part of my life during the first half of high school ending during my finals really evokes feelings… like my childhood really is over ig

But to end on a more positive note( seriously I’m gonna cry again I can’t think abt aziracrow I need to pass my exams) I absolutely adore the scene where the drive the Bentley into space it’s so ridiculous and perfect iiiiiiii I’m gonna rewatch that a million times and pretend the ending did not happen. Bye
