Celebrating Day 16 of Black History Month with another little known performer #HildaSimms - Simms (April 15, 1918 – February 6, 1994) was an African-American stage actress, best known for her starring role on Broadway in the controversial drama Anna Lucasta. Originally written for an all-white cast, Simms portrayed a middle-class woman struggling to regain her respectability after falling into a life of prostitution.
