Thailand Vs Cambodia : Leaders of Thailand and Cambodia will meet in Malaysia on Monday and there will be talks on ceasefire. This information was given by Malaysian Foreign Minister Muhammad Hassan. On Saturday, US President Donald Trump spoke to the leaders of both the countries over telephone and asked them to end the fighting . He threatened to stop American trade if the fighting continues. Leaders of Thailand and Cambodia have thanked him for his advice to end the fighting but will hold talks in Malaysia. Foreign Minister Hassan said, both the countries have accepted our request for peace talks and have accepted our mediation.
Malaysia offers to mediate
Thailand Vs Cambodia : Malaysia hopes that peace will soon be established in the region. It is known that Malaysia is currently chairing the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN). Its Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had appealed for peace and offered mediation after fighting broke out between Thailand and Cambodia on Thursday.
Thailand's Prime Minister's Office spokesman Jirayu Huangsap said that Thailand's acting Prime Minister Phumtham Vechayachai will visit Kuala Lumpur at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and will hold talks there on measures to establish peace in the region. Jirayu has said that Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet will also participate in these talks mediated by the Malaysian Prime Minister.
Fighting continues, two lakh people displaced
The fight between Thailand and Cambodia over the rights of the Shiva temple situated on the border continued for the fourth day on Sunday. Firing, rocket attacks and shelling continued on both sides. So far 33 people have been killed in this fight and more than two lakh people have been displaced.
