30 Days of Writing - Day 3

So this is set in a Pokemon AU starring the characters Hinode, Naoki and Saoto also known as the Wrecks because damn we wrecked them hard. No wrecking to be found here though. :3c

Theme: Smile Fandom: Original (Pokemon AU) Characters/Ships: The Wrecks (Hinode, Naoki, Saoto)

“You don't really smile a lot, do you.”

Naoki stopped petting his Munchlax for moment to look up at the fifteen-year-old next to him. Having left the city in the morning, their little group had decided to take a trip through a nearby forest to see if they encountered any interesting pokémon. Seeing as noon was fast approaching though, they settled to take a quick break to have some lunch before they traveled any deeper into the woods.

“I can count the times I've seen you smile on a hand and we've been traveling for a while now. I was just wondering if it was a general thing or something to do with us,” Saoto elaborated when Naoki just stared at him for a while, having learned by now that Naoki wasn't one for words. The older teen continued to stare until he finally looked back down at his partner pokémon who was taking a nap on his lap.

“I just didn't have anything to smile about.”

“I guess that makes sense. Still, it bugs me a little that you don't. Makes me think I'm doing something wrong.”

“You're not really one to talk, Saoto,” Hinode said, looking up from where she was unpacking their lunches. Handing some food for each of her companions, she threw their youngest a smile. “You haven't really smiled that much since we started traveling, either. Do you think we are doing something wrong?”

“What? No! Of course not!” he immediately replied, a bit of panic in his voice. Taking the food from his friend, Saoto took a thoughtful bite out of his rice ball, frowning a little. “Did I really not smile much...? I could have sworn I did...”

“I'm sure we would have noticed if you had smiled.” Naoki nodded.

“Your smiles are annoyingly bright.”

“The hell is that supposed to mean?” The older teen didn't reply, instead poking his Munchlax awake to feed it a bit of his food. Seeing Saoto pout at that the woman couldn't help but chuckle.

“Well, if it makes you feel any better, I have been smiling a lot more since we've been together than I had in years.”

“But Hinode-san doesn't usually smile either, right?” While the woman was usually smiling when they were talking, Saoto would sometimes catch her when she thought they weren't looking.

Still, she continued to smile and wagged a finger at him. “But you don't know how I was before, right? I assure you, I'm happy around you two and I smile a lot more often because of it.”

He wasn't entirely satisfied with that reply, a pout still on his face. After a moment of consideration though he tilted his head to the side in thought. “Now that I think about it though, I guess it's the same with me...”

“Me too.” They both jumped a little when Naoki spoke, both having forgotten for a moment that he was still awake. The older teen wasn't looking at them, instead shyly looking off to the side while his hands were busy petting his Munchlax again. After a beat, Saoto started looking between the three of them.

“So in the end even if we don't smile that much, we all agree that we are happier and smile more than usual ever since we met right?” When his companions nodded, he smiled, his entire face lighting up as a small blush spread over his face. “That's great! You guys make me so happy, I was afraid you guys wouldn't feel the same!”

Ah, Hinode and Naoki thought at the same time.

It was one of those annoyingly bright smiles again.

30 Days Of Writing - Day 1

So I’m doing the 30 Days of Writing Challenge! It will be one short drabble a day centering on either ships or certain characters! I will try to do both fandoms and original characters so I’m always up for suggestions! Just send me an ask!

Theme: Silence Fandom: Original Characters/Ships: HinoIro

Hinode perked up a little when she heard the front door close, a gentle smile on her face. She watched as the other woman slugged herself into the room, a bag dragging behind her on the floor.

“Welcome home,” she greeted. Iroko just gave her a groan in response, walking over to the couch Hinode was sitting on. Without hesitation she let herself fall over the armrest, letting herself fall onto the cushion, feet dangling off the side and her face buried in the blond's lap.

“W-What are you--?!” Before she could even finish her question arms were wrapped around her waist and a face nuzzled into her stomach, Iroko giving a content hum. Hinode just watched as the woman curled up in a ball, breathing evening out as she slowly fell asleep. After a moment of disbelief she just sighed and picked up the book she had abandoned before and flipped it open.

There were so many things she wanted to ask. How her day was; what she wanted for dinner; how the others were; why she was so tired; if school was getting difficult. Iroko didn't share a lot of her life with others, especially from work and school and with each day Hinode wanted to find out more about her.

Looking down at her girlfriend, she supposed moments like this were fine too. So without further ado she started to read her novel, enjoying the peaceful silence.
