Small previews of my two pieces for @hkoczine !
Many rocks were painted in the first piece... ough.
But it was good motivation to draw a big piece of my ocs.
I can’t wait to see everyone’s pieces!

The HK OC ZIne Applications are now open!! March 2nd until April 1st This is a free digital zine with the option to donate, and funds will go to the group decided in the application poll. This page will be updated as more questions are asked. Can we submit more than 1 piece for the zine? Right now I’m not so sure, I’d probably let some people do 2 pieces if they want since it is digital and the length doesn’t matter too much. Would I only be drawing my own OCs? If you would like to draw other people's characters you can go right ahead if you have permission. But this is set up so if someone has a character but doesn’t draw or write, a person working on the zine can volunteer to do a piece with their character for them. But otherwise for the most part yes you will be doing your own characters. What are the recommended canvas sizes? Basically I’d figured we would just be doing the average a4 with a dpi of 300 to 350, but if you really want to do something different we can try and work something out. Is it alright if one includes more than one of their own oc in the zine? Not a problem at all, go for it buddy! Would you need to see our oc’s or have made content for these oc’s? Nope! Do you have a date on when you're opening and closing submissions? I was planing on doing it application based and may end up needing to go ahead with that if I get a bunch more interest replies. If that is the case applications will open in March. If I can just go ahead with accepting everyone I’d probably ask for pieces in by April. Would traditional be an acceptable medium or only digital? Traditional is all good as long as you can get a nice scan of it. Are variations on vessels allowed? Of course vessels are allowed Can there be teams? As in 2 or more people collaborating one one piece? Yes if you want to work in teams that would be fine, just please let me know. Will you need references or previous works for my application to be considered? Yes you will need a portfolio of some kind.
How high quality does the art need to be? Like yeah obviously, I know that a really poorly done piece won't be acceptable, but I'm just wanting to know the level of skill necessary for this zine! That’s actually a pretty hard question to answer, will probably be taking some newer artists because getting in a zine is super! good practice.
Is it ok if none of my fics (aside from one) are unfinished? Should be fine as long as it shows what you can do/your style. When is the Zine meant to be released / how much time will I have to complete my pieces? You will have to months to complete the piece!

Hey guys I’m meant to be sending out the emails tomorrow, and I will still be aiming for that but I might end up being a few days late. I’ve been really out of it the last few days, sorry for any inconveniences.

Hiya applications will be opening soon and the interest check closing. Applications will open on the 2nd and end on the 1st. Interest check will close on the 28th. When it closes I’ll update the faq again to include all the new questions!

This will be going ahead with the response having reached almost 50, as a result we will be having to do it as application based. Applications will open in March (actual date pending).
